I WANT TO ATTEND
Join us this Earth Day to become a permanent part of the UpS Botanical Sanctuary
UpS Center for Medicinal Plant Conservation
Dedicated to Jim and Peggy Duke
Earth Day Walkabout and Campout Fundraiser
April 21 - 23, 2017
United Plant Savers is proud to announce our capital campaign for our long awaited Educational & Research Center. With your donation and participation in these two days of hikes, lectures, music, and plant love vibe, you will be an integral part of this incredibly important center for plant conservation and medicinal plant preservation.
The Center of Medicinal Plant Conservation is to be dedicated to Jim and Peggy Duke, a couple that have touched the lives of many in the herbal community. They have each in their own way given endlessly to further our collective knowledge of our green pharmacy.
Your donation of $200 to participate in this event will go towards the goal of raising the remaining funds needed to build the center. In honor of your support, a special plaque will be displayed in our showcase medicinal plant garden outside the welcome center, naming each participant of our Earth Day 2017 Walkabout and Campout.
What is included:
-Become part of the lineage of the United Plant Savers Center for Medicinal Plant Conservation
-Herbal teas throughout the weekend.
-Awesome hikes on Saturday by three stewards of this land who know it intimately.
-Live music on Saturday night and a chance to enjoy fellow plant tribe company.
What is not included:
-Food. Pack for breakfast and lunch. Pack your Saturday lunch to take on the trail. We will have a food truck here as an option if you wish to purchase dinner on Saturday.
Come camp Friday evening or arrive by 9 am on Saturday morning to join our hike lead by Paul Strauss, Chip Carroll and Tanner Filyaw. This will be an incredibly special way to explore the Sanctuary led by three of the best plant guides in the region. This weekend will be co-hosted by Kathleen Maier UpS Board Member and Executive Director Susan Leopold.
This will not be your usual workshop in that we are hoping to provide the forum for you to get out and experience the incredible diversity that the sanctuary holds. The woodlands, prairies, and wetlands all tell stories of deep medicine. So many times at conferences we talk ABOUT the land and plants and never get to experience them. This is the time to wander the woods and meadows.
